Athletics Canada confirmed yesterday it has asked the Games host corporation for the top 2015 showcase to be pulled out of Hamilton due to stadium "struggles" and an uncertain future for a track at a stadium they believe appears to be centred on use by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Athletics Canada CEO Joanne Mortimer told The Hamilton Spectator the organization is "looking for what is best for the sport" and cited the possibility a track at a Hamilton stadium would be ripped out for pro football. Mortimer said Athletics Canada made the request "discreetly" and didn't want to add to the storm surrounding the stadium site in Hamilton.
